In collaboration with Mrs. Cartwright at Pleasanton Middle School, I was given the amazing opportunity to share mindfulness tips and techniques for stress management to middle school students taking the Health course.
Through Google Classroom, I submitted a webinar-style video that clearly highlights the following:
- What is Stress
- Why We Feel Stressed
- What is Mindfulness
- How Can Mindfulness Help
Along with this video, I provided the presentation where they can access the materials and use the practice videos.
For the practice videos, I focused on 3 aspects: increasing motivation, decreasing stress, and energizing the body. To suit this balance that we are promoting when managing stress, I created three sets of practice videos as followed below.
Breath Awareness
- Calms you! Gives you a nice boost of happy hormones.
- Great to practice in the morning or after completing work.
- Can also calm you from excess stress/energy from work!
Yogic Jogging
- Energizes and activates!
- Practice before or as a break during studies! Great in the morning too!
- Can be a great cardio exercise!
Sun Salutations
- Activates during a break from studying! Or when you need to relieve stress!
- Controls your stress, but also motivates you!
In all, I have received great reviews from Mrs. Cartwright and the middle school Health students at Pleasanton Middle School about the effectiveness of my resources.
